Manteno, Illinois Photographer | Why Choose Me?
Why should you hire a professional?
Until you’ve experienced a professional photo session, you might not realize how much time and effort goes into it. Your session starts before you even arrive to have your photographs taken. An initial consultation, discussion about your session likes/dislikes, inspiration for your session colors and theme, and getting to know each other are just the beginning! I make it a priority to get to know you before we ever meet in person because I want you to have the absolute best session experience. I want to know your story, and I want you to be comfortable with me! If you don’t feel like you click with your photographer from the start, it may not be the right fit. And that’s ok! You should absolutely love your photographer’s style, the way they communicate with you, and the experience they offer. I strive to give you a professional, luxury experience where you get exactly what you want and don’t feel stressed. Start to finish, I’ll help with wardrobe, provide all props, coordinate your hair and makeup, and help you choose the art that fits your space and budget.
A professional photography session is an investment. These are the moments you want to preserve for the rest of your life and pass down to future generations. It’s so worth it to invest in preserving your memories! Take the time to think about where you want to display your art in your home and what you want to do with it in the future. Wall art is amazing, it’s a big, bold way to display your favorite images from your session. I recommend choosing your favorite images in a grouping to display on a wall in your home. Folio sets are one of my absolute favorite things. Each print in the set comes matted to 8×10 and can be framed and put on display, or they can be kept in the beautiful, wood and glass display box on a table as a centerpiece. Folio sets are available starting in sets of five. Albums are perfect for gifts to new grandparents! I love keeping albums in my living area to look through and remember each and every image and moment at the time the photograph was taken. My kids love looking through the albums and hearing about how tiny they were and the little noises and faces they made. Designing albums is one of my favorite things to do. I include every image you want in your album design. Every session should have an album! I offer many product options from wall art, to folio sets, to framed images, to digital images. I’ve ordered many test images before choosing my favorite professional lab, and I check everything before packaging it and delivering it to you. I love your products as much as you do!
When you decide to book a session with me, know that you will be getting my full attention to every detail from start to finish. I book a very limited number of sessions. This ensures that you won’t feel rushed at any point. Very rarely do I ever book more than one session a day, and I only book one newborn session a day. Some newborn sessions happen in two hours, but some take closer to three or four. As a newborn photographer who specializes in posed sessions, I know how important it is to listen to your baby and stay calm and relaxed. Don’t feel bad if it seems like I’m spending a lot of time rocking your baby or if your baby needs to eat frequently or just is taking a long time to settle into sleep. I’m used to it, and it’s all just part of each baby’s unique personality! I love what I do, and I’ve spent countless hours learning how to keep your baby safe and comfortable and get the images you’ve fallen in love with in my portfolio. A limited number of sessions also means that I can do in person gallery reveals and take the time to help you choose your favorite images and your favorite products. Seeing your emotions as you look through your gallery for the first time is my favorite!
“Before you were born I carried you under my heart. From the moment you arrived in this world until the moment I leave it, I will always carry you in my heart.”
When should you book? Because of my limited availability, I do often book up quickly. It’s best to reserve your sessions while you’re still pregnant (especially if you’re due in the fall or around the holidays), but I always try make room for last minute inquiries when I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out if your baby has already arrived! Maternity sessions are typically scheduled around 32 weeks, but don’t think it’s too late if you’re 38 weeks… reach out! I typically schedule your newborn session in the first two to three weeks of your new baby’s life, but sometimes things happen and before you know it your baby is approaching 8 weeks… reach out! Sometimes, you can’t plan ahead or you didn’t know you needed to… that’s ok! I’m here to give you the best session experience I can and I will not ever make you feel bad about timing! If you are here and planning ahead, I offer an incentive to booking your maternity and newborn session at the same time… ask me about it!
